July 4th Weekend draws over 1,000 to Friends event

The annual Friends of Hudson cookout drew 400 picnickers this year to The Federation of Polish Sportsmen, our largest attendance in three years. Among those present were Assemblyman Patrick Manning, Hudson Supervisor Daniel Grandinetti, and Hudson aldermen Robert O'Brien and Christopher Nedwick. Two dozen hand-painted lawn signs were auctioned off, along with six great raffle prizes. To view snapshots of the event, click HERE. In the evening, another 700 people attended the first-ever rock concert with The Tom Tom Club, The Hotheads, and Julee Cruise at The Port of Hudson. The event was organized by Patrick Doyle and Club Helsinki to benefit Friends of Hudson, and the Tom Tom Club cleverly weaved the St. Lawrence Cement issue into the lyrics of hit songs like "Genius of Love."
