Two important dates: February 25th and March 8th

Mining hearings set to begin; annual St. Mary's party follows

Four dates have been set to consider "ungrandfathering" of the Becraft Mountain quarries related to St. Lawrence Cement's massive, coal-fired proposal: February 25th, February 28th, March 4th and March 5th. The public can attend. Hearings will begin at 9 am at Greenport Town Hall on Town Hall Drive (off Healy Boulevard -- turn near Midas Muffler). Additional dates may be added if necessary at the discretion of Administrative Law Judges Helene Goldberger and Maria Villa.

Following these four dates, Friends of Hudson hosts its 3rd annual members party in the St. Mary's Academy gymnasium in Hudson. The event runs from 7-10 pm, and is free for members; discount $15 memberships are also available at the door. As in the past, a benefit "silent auction" has been organized by Sarah Lipsky, with items donated by Friends supporters. To preview the auction, click HERE.
